Return Policies for Universal Accessibility

Any product that is defective or damaged upon delivery should be refused. Do not sign for any product that appears to have been damaged during shipment. Any product that is defective following delivery is covered under the manufacturer's warranty and will be repaired or replaced based upon the terms of the warranty within the warranty period.

Please Note:
Arrangement for the return of non-damaged goods (product line return policies are listed below) will not be accepted beyond 10 days from POD (Proof Of Delivery).

Cancellations prior to shipment are subject to a 6% handling charge. Cancellations after shipment are subject to the same policy as Returns. Returns within the 10 day period are subject to a 15% re-stocking fee plus $150.00 freight. There are additional requirements for returns based upon the specific item you purchased and these "item related" return policies are listed below.

  • When your new lift arrives you must inspect it immediately upon delivery for any defects or damage. Once you sign a delivery receipt for a wheelchair lift you are stating that it has been received in good condition. If there are any defects or damage to your new wheelchair lift you must decline the shipment and refuse to sign for the delivery. Once you have accepted delivery you are stating that the lift was received in good condition and the standard return policy applies. A damaged lift is not eligible for return if you have accepted delivery.

    The factory warranty applies immediately following delivery acceptance and returns must go directly to the factory of origin with factory authorization. Some manufacturers repair any malfunctions to the unit and others replace any faulty parts at no charge. All wheelchair lift manufacturers refuse to honor a warranty for a unit that has been damaged during installation by a non-qualified installer.

  • Standard Vertical Wheelchair Lifts

    Standard vertical wheelchair lifts are residential 52 inch or under lifts with a straight through access. Standard vertical wheelchair lifts may be returned within 10 days of delivery only if they have not been removed from their original shipping carton. If you wish to return a standard vertical wheelchair lift for any reason you will be responsible for all shipping charges both ways plus a 15% restocking fee.

    Just call our toll free number, 1-800-225-9309, and we will provide you with a return authorization number and shipping instructions. Any orders for standard vertical wheelchair lifts may be canceled as long as the lift has not shipped and will be subject to a 25% cancellation fee. Any lift that has already shipped will be treated as a return and will be subject to the shipping charges and restocking fees.

    Non-Standard Vertical Wheelchair Lifts

    All vertical wheelchair lifts other than standard as defined above are Non-standard vertical wheelchair lifts and are custom orders. Construction of your custom lift begins immediately following order placement. Orders for Non-standard vertical wheelchair lifts may not be canceled after placement for any reason.

    Any lift shipments not picked up at the terminal of destination within 12 days of delivery to the terminal will be auctioned off.

     

  • Stairlifts are custom made products. As a result, we cannot accept returns or order cancellations on any stair lifts. Of course, we will repair or replace any defective product and each product is fully backed by the individual manufacturers warranty.

    Curved Stair Lifts
    Each curved stair lift must be custom manufactured to suit the unique requirements of the site. The unit is manufactured to the exact dimensions of the site application as determined by the digital survey and no two applications are alike. Lifts go into factory production immediately upon submission of the order to the factory which is after customer signs off on the CAD drawing. Accordingly, AmeriGlide has a substantial investment in resources and labor and as such we have a 25% cancellation fee for any order cancelled after the measurement survey but prior to submission for production, 50% once the lift is in production. Once a custom stair lift order has been shipped it cannot be canceled or returned. The shipment cannot be refused. No refund will be made for orders of this status.

  • Dumbwaiters are custom manufactured specifically for the unique needs of each buyer and are not eligible for return. Orders once placed may not be canceled for any reason as the manufacturing process begins immediately upon order acceptance.
  • Walk-In Tubs are non-returnable for hygiene reasons.

     

     

    Your use of this site shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the state of Kentucky, U.S.A., without regard to choice of law provisions, and not by the 1980 U.N. Convention on contracts for the international sale of goods. You agree that jurisdiction over and venue in any legal proceeding directly or indirectly arising out of or relating to this site (including but not limited to the purchase of products) shall be in the state or federal courts located in Kentucky. Any cause of action or claim you may have with respect to the site (including but not limited to the purchase of products) must be commenced within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arises. Failure to insist upon or enforce strict performance of any provision of these terms and conditions shall not be construed as a waiver of any provision or right. Neither the course of conduct between the parties nor trade practice shall act to modify any of these terms and conditions. Universal Accessibility assigns its rights and duties under this Agreement to any party at any time without notice to you.
