The Pride Outlander Full Platform Lift is unlike the XL and DE models, because it comes with a platform instead of rails. The Outlander Full Platform comes STANDARD with:

  • a battery pack
  • a license plate holder
  • wheel chocks that can be inserted anywhere into the holes of the platform

The platform can be loaded from either direction, and is available with either the Scooter Lockdown Arm or the Ratcheting Straps (depending on the user's individual needs). Manual operation is possible in the case of a power failure, using the included manual crank.

Pride Mobility Outlander Exterior LIft

A Little About Myself
I'm a 68 year old woman who operates the exterior lift for my husband's wheelchair.
Pros
The lift is very easy to operate and simple to maintain. We purchased the lift with an external battery instead of hooking the battery to our car battery. When we travel we can remove the battery and charge it wherever we're staying. We also purchased the swing arm attachment so we can access our trunk. The swing arm is very easy to move to the side of our SUV.
Cons
1. When the wheelchair is on the lift, it bounces quite a bit when on any type of bumpy road. So far it hasn't created a problem but it was a bit unnerving the first time it happened. 2. The lift, either in the folded position or when the chair is on it, covers up the license plate holder that comes with the lift. We have to purchase a separate bracket extension to raise the license plate so it's visible. Just waiting to see how much that will cost.
Service & Delivery
Delivery was unbelievable. We ordered the lift from Universal-Accessibility, late on a Sunday afternoon and it was delivered by Wednesday afternoon! We did have to wait a bit for installation but overall, I would give Service and Delivery 5 stars.
We've only had this lift for 3 weeks but overall, we're not disappointed. Once we get the extension bracket for the license plate holder, I'll be more satisfied.

A Little About Myself
Pros
Easy to assemble and mount Very easy to operate Excellent and easy to use tie down system
Cons
For the Jazzy Elite, the side ramps are just a little too steep, which means you need to get up a small head of steam to get it up and on to the lift. This is not a problem if you are parked on level ground, but it is a small problem if the ramp is lowered on to a slope, even if moderate, since the scooter will tend to slip to the side.
Service & Delivery
Service and delivery were just as promised. We were on a short fuse, and everything worked out just fine.
We are very glad we have it. My Dad's spirits and activity level are both higher now that he knows he can go virtually anywhere and not be exhausted by trying to use a walker to traverse long aisles and hallways.
