Hitch Class

Call for help and the lowest prices.The external lift (carries a wheelchair or scooter outside the vehicle) you can use depends on the amount of weight your vehicle's hitch can carry. Vehicle hitches are rated by "Class".

  • Class 1 Hitches:  are rated up to 2000 lbs. gross trailer weight with a maximum of 200 pounds tongue weight.  They are usually found on small to medium size cars.
  • Class 2 Hitches: are rated up to 3500 lbs. gross trailer weight with a maximum of 350 pounds tongue weight.  They are usually found on large cars and small trucks, SUVs, and vans.
  • Class 3 Hitches: are rated up to 5000 lbs. gross trailer weight with a maximum of 500 pounds tongue weight.  They are usually found on large trucks, SUVs, and vans.
