  • QHow long does it take for delivery of a new vertical elevator lift?
    AAll commercial and tall tower elevator lifts are built to order in the factory.  The factory usually runs on a 3 to 5 week production schedule depending on the time of year.  You should plan on 5 weeks delivery time for tall towers and 3 weeks on short lifts 52 inches and under.  We may have your lift available immediately, so please make sure to ask about the schedule for your vertical elevator lift.
  • QIs my lift going to be ADA approved?
    AIt is a common misconception that ADA approves lifts.  They do not.  ADA sets the standards for handicap space and other requirements.  All of the lifts we sell can be configured to meet ADA requirements, are constructed to ASME standards, are UL approved, and meet the requirements of A17 and A18.  You must specify that the lift you want to order needs to meet commercial standards and codes, and we will work with you or your staff to meet your needs.
  • QWhy should I buy from Universal Accessibility and not some other Internet site?
    AThe products we sell cannot be described as simple.  They require experience and expertise to provide in a fashion that eliminates surprises for buyers.  We have that experience and expertise.  We offer only the best products because we weed out those products that require unreasonable service to install.  We are the largest supplier of lifts in the USA and most lift manufacturers are anxious to supply us with their products.  However, if their products haven’t met our standards for reliability you will not see them on our site.
  • QCan you help me with Medicare?
    AMedicare does not usually reimburse for lifts of any kind.
  • QWhy don't you handle other brands of lifts?
    ATheir products do not meet our standards for reliability.
  • QDoes my new vertical lift require assembly?
    AWe sell lift packages that come pre-assembled and others that require assembly.  The only way to get a clear and accurate answer to this question is to ask about the process for the specific lift you're considering.  We do not offer any lifts that require extensive assembly.  Even the most challenging tall towers can be done in less than a day.
  • QWhat happens when I need warranty repairs/service on my vertical lift?
    AYour vertical lift comes with a full manufacturer parts warranty for one year. If you need service you simply call our 800 number and we will supply you with the name of a dealer in your area for the lift you purchased.
  • QAre there any hidden charges?
    ANO, the lifts we sell are package prices and include everything you need right down to the anchors for the concrete pad.
  • QHow difficult is it to install your stair lifts?
    AAs an Internet retailer we have to make sure our products are simple to install. Our stair lifts require about 3 hours to install for a person capable of using ordinary hand tools. Nothing installs to the wall, only to the stair treads, making installation straightforward and easy to do.
  • QWhere can I find installation instructions?
    AThe instructions for each product are available by simply clicking the link immediately under the picture of each lift.
  • QWhy are you better than the other sites on the Internet that offer the same products.
    AYour buying experience will depend largely upon the amount and quality of information provided to you by the seller. We have the most experience with stair lifts and take the time to fully inform you and recommend solutions before you buy.  We are in our 8th year on the Internet which is far longer than most of our competition.
  • QHow do I know the vehicle lift, scooter lift, or wheelchair carrier will work with my vehicle and my scooter or wheelchair?
    AWe have significant expertise with vehicle lifts allowing us to advise you with confidence.  To be safe, we get factory approval for compatibility with your vehicle and mobility cart for every lift we sell.  As a result of our up front diligence, you can be assured that our recommendation will work as described.
  • QWhat if the product delivered to me appears to be damaged or the carton appears crushed?
    AVertical lifts are usually shipped with a die marker that turns color if the package has been mishandled.  Do not accept delivery of your vertical lift if the die package indicates negative.  All other deliveries must be inspected upon receipt for damage.  If the product is damaged call us immediately and we will make arrangements to have it replaced.  If you accept a damaged product call us immediately upon discovery and we will work with you to resolve the problem.  Once received, all products are assumed to be in new condition and will immediately become covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
